Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a branch of the healing arts which is based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a normally functioning nervous system (especially the spine, and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body). "Chiropractic" comes from the Greek word Chiropraktikos, meaning "effective treatment by hand." Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body's inability to adapt to its environment. It looks to address these diseases not by the use of drugs and chemicals, but by locating and adjusting a musculoskeletal area of the body which is functioning improperly.

Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) encompasses a variety of health care therapies.  It is a way of looking at medicine that integrates all therapies in its understanding.   In North America, the most popular of these therapies are Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.  Others include diet, nutrition, lifestyle choices, Tai Chi (physical exercise), Tui'na (massage), Jin Shin Do™ (body/mind acupressure) and Feng Shui (environmental balance).

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. This invigorating experience is a process of detection of stiff or painful areas by determining the quality and texture of the deeper layers of musculature, and slowly working into the deep layers of muscle tissue.

Athletic Therapy

The  Practice of a Certified Athletic Therapist includes the assessment, prevention, immediate care, and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries. Prevention includes musculoskeletal and postural evaluation, equipment selection, fitting and repair, warm-up, conditioning programs, prophylactic or supportive taping, and adapting to the activity environment and facilities.
