MELANIE BONIN, BESS-AT CAT(C)CSCS
Certified Athletic Therapist
Melanie is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Specialist with extensive experience in sport injury management, high‑performance training, and on‑field emergency care. She holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in Athletic Therapy from the University of Manitoba and is certified through the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA). She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength & Conditioning Association and a trained First Responder, giving her a strong foundation in both clinical and field‑side care.
Melanie has been deeply involved in the Manitoba soccer community for many years. She has worked with numerous provincial and club teams and spent two years as the Athletic Therapist for the Women’s 2005 Canada Games soccer team. Since 2005, she has served as the Head Therapist for the Canadian Soccer Manitoba Regional Training Centre, supporting the development of high‑performance athletes and helping them stay healthy, strong, and competition‑ready.
Before focusing on soccer, Melanie gained extensive experience in hockey. She worked as a student therapist with the University of Manitoba Women’s Hockey Team for two seasons, supported the Program of Excellence, and served as a therapist for the Women’s 2003 Canada Games hockey team. Her work with elite athletes also includes providing care to several National Team members as a Canadian Sport Centre Provider.
Outside of her professional roles, Melanie is an avid athlete and an active mother of two. She continues to play volleyball and enjoys cycling, hiking, and camping with her family. Growing up, she was involved in a wide range of sports — including hockey, ringette, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and badminton — giving her a lifelong appreciation for movement, athleticism, and the importance of injury prevention.
With her combination of clinical expertise, on‑field experience, and personal passion for sport, Melanie brings a well‑rounded, athlete‑focused approach to helping individuals recover, perform, and thrive.
