Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Thiessen is an experienced chiropractor with over three decades of clinical practice in Manitoba. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in 1983 and went on to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life Chiropractic College in 1988. Early in his career, he gained extensive hands‑on experience by performing locum tenens work in more than 25 clinics across Manitoba, giving him a broad understanding of diverse patient needs and treatment approaches.

In 1992, Dr. Thiessen co‑founded Ellice Chiropractic Centre with Dr. Gordon Partridge, establishing a patient‑focused practice dedicated to evidence‑based chiropractic care. Over the years, he has remained deeply involved in the profession’s development within the province. He has served on multiple committees within the Manitoba Chiropractors Association and is the Association’s past Registrar, contributing to regulatory standards and professional advancement.

Dr. Thiessen is certified in spinal trauma through the International Chiropractors Association Council on Applied Chiropractic Sciences, reflecting his commitment to advanced clinical training. His academic involvement includes lecturing at the University of Manitoba within the Faculty of Paediatric Dentistry, where he served as teaching staff in preventative dental science.

With a strong interest in sports performance and injury management, Dr. Thiessen is a contracted service provider for the National Sport Centre and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences. He has volunteered extensively in sport and community organizations, supporting athletes and promoting healthy, active living.

Today, Dr. Thiessen continues to provide patient‑centered chiropractic care, drawing on decades of clinical experience, advanced training, and a long-standing commitment to professional leadership in Manitoba.
